Role Objective
Drive forward-looking forecasting and integrated demand planning, translating it into complete execution readiness across:
- Materials (plants, planters, accessories)
- Manpower (project teams, maintenance crews)
- Vendor sourcing & capacity
- Ensure zero revenue loss or execution delays due to planning gaps, while optimizing working capital and margins (CM1 / CM2).
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Demand Forecasting
- Build rolling forecasts (weekly/monthly) using pipeline, project schedules, AMC cycles, and seasonality
- Create city-wise demand visibility across projects and services
- Continuously track and improve forecast vs actual accuracy
2. Demand to Material Planning
- Translate demand into BoM-linked material plans:
- Plants (live inventory)
- Planters, irrigation, and accessories
- Align material readiness with execution timelines
- Drive backward planning (execution date → procurement readiness→ Supply chain readiness→ Vendor mapping-> deliveries)
3. Inventory vs Vendor Sourcing Strategy
- Decide sourcing mix:
- Inventory utilization vs just-in-time procurement
- Map and manage vendor ecosystem capacity (nurseries, suppliers)
- Ensure availability of critical SKUs ahead of demand
4. Manpower Forecasting & Deployment
- Forecast manpower requirements based on:
- Project pipeline (installations)
- AMC/Plant maintenance service workload (recurring demand)
- Plan city/site-wise deployment, crew sizing, and skill mix
- Ensure no service or execution delays due to manpower gaps
5. Perishable Inventory & Wastage Control
- Manage live plant inventory lifecycle
- Minimize mortality, wastage, and excess stock
- Ensure just-in-time availability with optimal freshness
6. Revenue & Execution Assurance
- Identify risks:
- Material shortages
- Manpower constraints
- Provide early warning signals to Sales & Operations
- Ensure zero revenue leakage due to planning inefficiencies
7. Multi-City Planning & Optimization
- Build integrated city-wise plans (demand, inventory, manpower)
- Optimize:
- Stock positioning (central vs site-level)
- Inter-city transfers
- Crew deployment efficiency
8. Systems, Dashboards & Automation
- Own dashboards for:
- Forecast vs Actuals
- Material Readiness vs Pipeline
- Manpower Utilization
- Inventory Aging & Wastage
- Work with ERP (ERPNext/ Procuzy/ Salesforce) + BI tools (Power BI / Zoho Analytics)
- Drive automation and system-led planning workflows
Key Metrics of Success
- Forecast Accuracy (Sales & Demand)
- % Projects / Site deployment Delayed due to Planning Gaps
- Material Readiness vs Demand (%)
- Manpower Utilization & SLA Adherence
- Material Wastage %
- Inventory Turns & Working Capital Days
- Revenue Loss due to Material / Manpower Gaps
- CM1 / CM2 Improvement
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years in Demand Planning / Sales Forecasting / Supply Chain / Resource Planning
- Experience in project-based, multi-city, material-heavy operations
- Exposure to manpower planning / field operations/ Service deliveries
- Strong analytical skills (Excel mandatory, BI tools preferred)
- Ability to connect forecasting → planning → execution → revenue impact
Quick Fit Check
You’re a strong fit if you can:
- Build a forward-looking demand + material + manpower plan
- Make inventory vs vendor sourcing decisions confidently
- Demonstrate clear impact on revenue, execution timelines, or cost optimization
