Role Overview
The role is responsible for managing end-to-end labour law compliance, statutory registrations, audit management, and vendor compliance in accordance with applicable Indian labour laws. The position ensures timely registrations, filings, audit closures, and statutory adherence while maintaining strong documentation and process controls.
Key Responsibilities
1. S&E and CLRA Compliance (50%)
- Manage new registrations, amendments (headcount, address, name change, logo), and closures under Shops & Establishment (S&E) Act.
- Handle registrations, renewals, amendments, and compliance under the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970 (CLRA).
- Coordinate submissions to concerned authorities with one-week prior intimation before document submission or where support is required.
- Share and ensure display of statutory abstracts and notices as per state-wise requirements.
- Provide prior intimation on any changes in applicable state-wise labour laws and regulations.
- Share document requirements for CLRA registration, amendments, and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain statutory registers client-wise as per deployment sheets.
2. Audit Management (20%)
- Coordinate and manage internal and external HR audits.
- Furnish documentary requirements to clients and auditors as required.
- Ensure accurate and timely closure of audit observations.
- Prepare audit responses, trackers, compliance reports, and closure documentation.
- Identify compliance gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and update SOPs and documentation to ensure audit readiness.
3. Vendor & Contract Labour Compliance (20%)
- Monitor vendor compliance with statutory requirements including PF, ESIC, CLRA, and other labour laws.
- Review vendor agreements for labour law compliance obligations.
- Maintain documentation, compliance reports, and statutory records related to contract labour.
4. Statutory Compliance (10%)
Ensure timely and accurate statutory deductions, filings, and regulatory compliance including:
- Provident Fund (PF): EPF, EPS, EDLIS compliance and e-filings.
- Employees’ State Insurance (ESI): Contribution filings and compliance.
- Professional Tax (PT): State-wise deductions and returns.
- Labour Welfare Fund (LWF): Deductions and contributions.
- Income Tax (TDS): TDS deduction, Form 16 issuance, and quarterly returns (Form 24Q).
- Stay updated on changes in Indian labour laws and tax regulations (Income Tax, EPFO, ESIC, Shops & Establishment Act, etc.).
- Coordinate with external auditors during payroll audits and statutory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Commerce, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in labour law compliance, statutory compliance, or HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws including CLRA, PF, ESIC, S&E, PT, LWF, and TDS.
- Experience in audit handling and compliance documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and compliance management systems.
